This book reminds me of "Boy" and "Going Solo" by Roald Dahl. All of their boyhood stories are packed with the days of mischief, miracles and unconditional love. I bet those memorable days of childhood are essence for people to make a decent and fulfilling life when we become grown-ups.
I used to dream about having someone like them as a life time partner, but now I doubt it. The life with exceptionally interesting person would be too adventurous for me. I'm such a worrywart that I'll never be able to sleep in peace.
